Artsmark is a national award scheme which recognises schools committed to the arts.

Artsmark provides a benchmark for arts provision that encourages schools to consider the opportunities they offer in art, dance, drama and music. The application form for Artsmark acts as an auditing tool, through which schools may gain an overall picture of their arts education provision.

Artsmark round 12
After ten successful years and over 10,000 Artsmark awards, the Arts Council  took a gap year to refresh the scheme. Artsmark is now back – with a new online application system and welcoming a wider range of organisations to apply, including further education colleges and youth justice settings.

The Artsmark award now focuses not only on the quantity of arts provision, but the impact and quality outcomes of your arts offer, through a redesigned two-part application. A restructured assessment process will allow educational settings to access a wider range of support and developmental opportunities throughout the duration of their Artsmark award, and aims to promote a community of good practice amongst Artsmark organisations.

Applications deadline: 12th January 2012

The criteria has been raised and essentially streamlined so there are now only two award distinctions; Artsmark and Artsmark Gold, (with Artsmark now being the equivalent of the old Artsmark Silver level).

Training and support
