The Gallery at the AUCB offers a unique space in the South West for the contemporary arts – including design, media and performance; it has received regional and national recognition. The newly designed space also includes a café with indoor and outdoor seating. It showcases work from contemporary international artists and has collections on loan from other galleries and museums, and provides events and opportunities for schools and young people.

An extract from the Arts Council report dated 18th January 2011: With the support of the Cultural Leadership Programme, Dorset has facilitated a sustainable model for increasing levels of engagement. Dorset Loves Arts is an established group of arts organisations and individuals are now committed to working together to increase engagement in the arts as well as achieve Dorset's strategic cultural outcomes, within a climate of less funding.

We've put together loads of great new dance routines, games and ideas to inspire you all to dance, so get the whole family involved. It's time to get up and have fun! From body popping for beginners, steps for the foxtrot, to simple games that can be enjoyed at home - there are so many fun and different ways to get up and active. Britain's Got Talent winners, Diversity, have also put together a series of special dance classes to get you busting funky moves just like them!

The NCA (National Campaign for the Arts) have recently launched a major, new campaign: I Value the Arts! www.ivaluethearts.org.uk has already captured the support of thousands of members of the public, artists, arts sector workers etc and invites as many peolpe as possible to sign up and pledge their support for the arts. This campaign aims to give everyone a chance to show decision-makers the importance of arts provision to local communities.
