Xtreme Arts Studio - open to secondary schools!

Want to make art outside school? use a studio, materials and artist support? Xtreme Studios is an art studio. It was set up to provide young people with a space to make their own work – in whatever medium they choose – with the support of an artist. Open to students from secondary schools on Thursday afternoons, from 6pm.

Named 'Culture for All', it aims to encourage partnerships to flourish between schools, extended services and arts and cultural organisations that will benefit children, young people and families.

Free project toolkit for working with young deaf people, by SOLA ARTS

In 2008, SOLA ARTS secured funding from BBC Children in Need to run a project called 'We Are Superheroes', working with a small group of young Deaf people aged 13-16 to develop comic books that featured Deaf superheroes, and also taught the general public a little bit about Deaf culture and British Sign Language. A free toolkit to help run your own similar project is now available to download.

Call for artists - Xtreme Art Studios

Xtreme Arts would like to offer placements to develop the skills of new and emerging artists by using training /final year art students and those artists who are ‘Returning to Work’ to run the core Xtreme ethos sessions during term time on either a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1.30 – 3.15pm and offering INSET to achieve this.

Free Theatre tickets for under 26's!
Arts Council England in association with Metro brings you the new scheme, A Night Less Ordinary. Launched in Feb '09 the scheme offers thousands of free theatre tickets to anyone under 26 for all sorts of theatre events including comedy, tragedies, musical theatre, dance, modern mime, plays, circus and much more. Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts is taking part in the scheme.
