Coastal Voices - Choirs required

Coastal Voices is currently recruiting choirs to join the project in the lead up to cultural Olympiad performances in London and Weymouth in 2012. We are aiming to bring hundreds of singers of all ages together to perform four new commissions on an international platform. The project will engage with choral groups up and down the Jurassic Coast in exploring new music and the magnificent World Heritage Site coastline which will form the backdrop to the Olympic sailing and windsurfing events in 2012.

Sportivate Funding

Sportivate is a £32million Lottery programme that gives 14-25 year olds access to six week courses in a range of sports including judo, golf, tennis, wakeboarding, athletics and parkour or free running.  Applications will now be accepted for activity taking place after 1st April 2012 only.

Bournemouth Children's Services Grant

Limited funds have been made available to support voluntary and community groups that are providing services and/or support to children and young people within the Bournemouth community.  Voluntary and community groups can apply for grants which support creative and innovative projects within Bournemouth.  Grants, for any one project, will be for a maximum period of three years.  During this maximum time period the organisation will be required to make the service sustainable for the future, subject to the success of the project.

Foundation for Community Dance publishes new handbooks for community dance artists

The Foundation for Community Dance are thrilled to announce the launch of four brand new National College for Community Dance Handbooks. The handbooks tackle contextual aspects of their focus areas as well as offering creative and practical guidance. They are the essential study resources, and tangibly cater for people just starting out in their community dance practice and for more experienced leaders of community dance ready to hone their skills and focus on working with particular groups and communities.

Exciting programmes at The Gallery, AUCB

The Gallery at the AUCB offers a unique space in the South West for the contemporary arts – including design, media and performance; it has received regional and national recognition. The newly designed space also includes a café with indoor and outdoor seating. It showcases work from contemporary international artists and has collections on loan from other galleries and museums, and provides events and opportunities for schools and young people.
