Artist Brief - Boscombe art project

On 24th April 2010, Bournemouth Borough Council will be putting on an event that will honour the support that the community of Boscombe have dedicated to the building of the artificial surf reef and the redevelopment of Boscombe seafront. As the project is now finished and is a great success, Bournemouth Borough Council would like to thank the community and celebrate the successes that have already been apparent in Boscombe. An artist is required to run participatory arts workshops at this event. Deadline for applications - 15th March.

Friends of Arts in Hospital - become a member!

Arts In Hospital is a scheme that helps to ease the stress or upset of a visit or stay in Dorchester County Hospital. It's a fantastic collection of contemporary art and is very effectively run, part-time, by Alex Coulter and Jackie Donaldson. The hospital is unfortunately having to make severe cuts, and art is not going to be easy to argue for. So, the scheme is trying to get more people become "Friends" of Arts in Hospital so that it can become self-sufficient. It only costs £15 a year (£10 for artists) and your involvement will make a lot of difference.

Lights, camera... dance! Pre-opening events at Pavilion Dance, Bournemouth

Twenty local dancers aged 19 – 25 will enjoy free training in ‘Dance for Camera’, a discipline that merges dance and film aesthetics, for 3 days from 27th Feb to 1st Mar. The training will take place on the Media Bus, an innovative state of the art digital media facility on board a high-tech bus, and will be based at Bournemouth and Poole College.

Graduate Certificate in Participatory Arts and Media Professional Practice

Last year the University of the West of England (UWE) launched new accredited continuing professional development courses aimed at arts graduates or those working in any art form with groups in education, healthcare or the community sectors. Applications are open until 12th March for the fourth module in Participatory Arts Project Management.

Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge - for arts and cultural organisations

Arts and creative sector organisations offering learning experiences for children and young people are eligible to apply for the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge. The Quality Badge is a national benchmark for the provision of educational visits and programmes. It recognises organisations that offer good quality teaching and learning experiences in safe and regulated environments, and so is looked out for by teachers arranging out of school visits.
