Face Britain: National project for 4-16 yr olds

Face Britain is a national project that invites all young people in the UK to submit a self-portrait. Your artwork will be part of a world record attempt and hopefully the biggest online gallery of self-portraits in the world. Make your face famous!  It is the UK’s largest mass collaborative art project which offers everyone aged 4-16 years the opportunity to engage in the art of self-portraiture.  Deadline for receiving portraits: 31st March 2012.

Music for Youth: Truro Regional Festival

The world’s largest youth music festival takes place throughout February, March and April with entry opening from September each year with over 50,000 musicians and singers taking part.  Regional Festivals provide a unique opportunity for groups to perform to new audiences, listen to other groups from their area and get valuable feedback from the team of MFY Music Mentors.  The Truro Regional Festival is taking place on Saturday 25th February in Cornwall.

Big Dance 2012

Big Dance 2012 is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of dance. Taking place across the UK, Big Dance will feature thousands of events inspired by dance. Nowhereisland - Part of London 2012 Cultural Olympiad

Nowhereisland is a public art project conceived by artist Alex Hartley. It is one of 12 arts projects across the UK, funded by the Arts Council of England, which will form part of the Cultural Olympiad in summer 2012. Next summer south west England will welcome an extraordinary visitor, Nowhereisland, an island sculpture formed from Arctic material which will journey from the Jurassic Coast to the Bristol Channel over six weeks. Nowhereisland was declared a new nation on 20th September 2011. Anyone can become a citizen and over the coming months the citizens of Nowhereisland will help to form and to host the new nation.

Opportunity to join The Remix integrated circus residency in Dorchester
Following a successful pilot in August 2011, The Remix will be hosting a 3-day workshop in Dorchester for young people age 11-19 with and without disabilities in West Dorset during October half term. Flight is an integrated circus residency with acclaimed circus company Cirque Bijou. The workshops will involve circus skills training and the opportunity to devise a performance incorporating ariel flying and acrobatics
