Launching Side Show festival 2009 - Unual Art in Unusal Places!
 
For the month of August 2009 artists will unite to take over unused spaces filling them with quirky, thrilling and fantastic artwork. 2nd Birthday have been working with local property agents and Bournemouth Borough Council for over a year to enable artists from across the country to brighten up and bring some much needed culture to their empty spaces. Side Show is a culmination of this work funded by Bournemouth Borough Council, Arts Council England, UnLtD and Activate and made possible by the generous support of Ellis and Partners and Goasdby and Harding property agents.

Artists working in visual art, live art, performance, circus, theatre, dance, digital media, light and sound will be creating new work, showcasing the best of their creations and transforming Bournemouth as you’ve never seen it before.

Also, make sure you save the 21st/ 22nd August for the big one - SideShow Showroom LIVE @ 41- 45 Poole Hill.

2nd Birthday is a charitable not for profit production company which is committed to artistically recycling disused shops and empty buildings. Developed through the generous pledges of our local community, the group is committed to producing plegees ‘2nd Birthdays’ - ambitious artistic events which will take place in recycled spaces. 2nd Birthday is managed by three local producers with extensive experience in performance, live art, visual art, digital media and arts education.
