Along with DepARTure Arts (Dorset), wave- arts education agency (Bournemouth and Poole) are on hand to train and support colleagues wanting to take young people through the Young People's Arts Award scheme.

The Arts Award is a national qualification that recognises how young people develop as artists and arts leaders. The award is a personal learning programme, which develops and assesses both arts-related and transferable skills, such as creativity, communication, planning and teamwork. Young people aged 11-25 can achieve awards at English National Qualification Levels 1, 2 and 3, led through by a trained adviser who might be a teacher, youth worker, artist or other adult in regular contact with them.

Arts Award in-house training
In-house training is a tailor-made, cost-effective approach for schools/ organisations that want to train a group of people as Arts Award advisers. It can also be used as a support course for previously trained advisers, and tailored to meet the needs of your organisation. Requirements are: a minimum of eight people, a suitable venue, and an administration that can support the course before and after.
