A Colourful Medley!

An evening of performance and fundraising, in support of '16 Days of Action'!

The Butterfly Foundation welcomes your support by coming along to this event. 16 Days of Action are happening nationally in order to raise awareness of domestic abuse. A Colourful Medley! is Butterfly’s contribution to this Action.  The 16 days link November 25th, International Day Against Violence Against Women, and December 10th, International Human Rights Day. On the night, we have music, drama and dance performances, tombola as well as an auction of two of the paintings by Butterfly’s members.

Music performances are by local folk mucisians/singer/songwriters: Jason Hinchey and Tinderbox.

Tickets are £2.50 in advance or £3.00 on the door from The Bourne Spring Centre, St. Mary’s Road, Springbourne.

Background and workshops
The Butterfly Foundation is a local charity that provides friendly, drop-in support for women, men and children who have suffered from domestic abuse. As a charity we are committed to breaking the taboo surrounding domestic abuse. We encourage members to express their emotions and experiences of the abuse they have suffered in order to aid the healing process. In addition to our art workshops, Butterfly also runs a 12 week rolling programme “The Freedom Programme” which helps to break the cycle of abuse. Workshops are held every Thursday at the Henry Brown Youth Centre in West Howe from 11am -1.30pm. New members are also welcomed at The Butterfly Foundation workshops on Friday’s at The Bourne Spring Centre, from 11am – 1.30pm.
