Making Waves - Creativity & Learning Conference 2010
Friday 18 June 9.30am-4.30pm
At the Michael Tippett Centre, Bath Spa University, Newton Park, Bath, BA2 9BN

Sharing creative and reflective practice in early years, primary, special and secondary schools
Creativity can set ripples and waves in motion. Creative thinking is a capacity that we can all develop and has the potential to transform our lives. Many schools are now developing more creative, contemporary learning contexts. We plan to offer a forum for these schools to collaborate, network and seek out each other’s creative action.

Do you want to do any of the following?
- Transform your curriculum and be even more creative
- See how creativity can also raise standards
- Teach more creatively so your students can learn more creatively
- Share how the arts can develop our creative capacities
- Develop creative and reflective learning environments

Then this is the conference for you!

The day will enable people directly involved in working with children and young people to identify their own
capacity to effect positive change and create a contemporary and creative curriculum: a curriculum respecting the
powerful and creative capacities of children and young people.

Making Waves is a conference for strategy leaders, head teachers, artists, teachers, cultural organisations and others interested in exploring the belief in children’s and young people’s creative capacities. The conference and workshops will enable you to reflect upon and commit to shaping the future direction of learning and teaching that meets the needs of our young people’s creativity.

Keynote speakers will address topics including creative values, transformation and the nature of creativity. Keynote speakers include Pat Chapman, Director of Schools, Creativity, Culture and Education (CCE), Shan Maclellan, Director of Learning at the Southbank Centre, London and Professor Anna Craft, Exeter and Open University and Patron of 5x5x5=creativity.
