The £1.9m project will deliver greater community vitality and cohesion and the capacity of local people to help themselves in a sustainable way. Shared working will produce efficiencies and better facilities for library, youth, school, voluntary, community and health uses. Public sector and voluntary sector professionals including school staff, police, health workers, youth workers, community workers will all enjoy closer contact with the people they serve through their partnership in this new Community Library.

In addition, the new facility will act as a community hub bringing members of the community together, especially new residents as a result of regeneration of the local area.
